Morning!
It’s almost the weekend, wahoo, but that doesn’t matter because we are back to debating pizza, which we can do all day, every day.
Specifically the NYT pizza saga.
The editorial team decided to request reader submissions for a list of the best pizza in the world, after the first story about America’s best pizza garnered nearly 2,000 comments. (In case you missed it, here’s my recap.)
The team didn’t do itself any favors. In a second attempt, they again failed to/purposely didn’t include a single spot in New Haven or New York (or Chicago, FWIW). Now, you may be thinking, maybe they excluded the US to focus on foreign destinations? Nice try. Spots in Pittsburg, Detroit Lakes, and Alliance, Ohio, made the cut alongside eateries in Rwanda, Nepal, and Lithuania. I would draft something witty myself but this well-spoken commenter sums it up best:
“Let me get this straight: No New Haven pizzerias in the original article. About 25 of the top 30 “Reader’s Picks” comments were lamenting the fact that there were no New Haven pizzerias. And now a follow-on compilation of pizzerias that readers felt should have been on the list neglects to include a New Haven pie. Are you just trolling us?”
To add insult to injury, Italy wasn’t on the list either. Someone over there clearly has a chip on their shoulder. Or just doesn’t know pizza.
But I digress because today, folks, we’re discussing boobs.
Botox and Boob Jobs
Brides (and grooms!) are getting plastic surgery and hosting Botox parties, which is news to literally no one aged 20 to 45, because truthfully, aren’t we all doing it?
The divisive topic has fascinated me for years, ever since a former host of a wedding fashion TV show told me some juicy gossip in the speaker green room at a trade show: the biggest challenge for bridal salons are brides are who order their dresses, then get a boob job—but fail to mention the expanded bust measurements to their salon.
